New Boizel creation
Launch of the monocrus collection.
For 190 years, Maison Boizel has been perpetuating the art of blending, giving birth to Champagnes that reveal all the richness and subtlety of the terroirs from which they come. Mastery of the blends is based on in-depth knowledge of the local vintages and the close links forged with our partners winegrowers. Each stage of the winemaking process is carried out with absolute precision, guaranteeing the excellence of the House’s wines.
To better appreciate the complexity of this painstaking work, Florent and Lionel Roques-Boizel have worked on developing a collection of monocrus highlighting the emblematic crus that make up the blends.
This new range of monocrus is being launched with Tours-sur-Marne 2019 and Villers-Marmery 2019 : two of the House’s historic crus. The discovery of these two new Champagnes will allow you to fully appreciate the singularities of each cru used in the blending of the House’s wines and to appreciate all the richness of the Champagne terroirs.
Tours-sur-Marne 2019 is a Blancs de Noirs Grand Cru Champagne made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes from the prestigious Tours-sur-Marne terroir. It is rare to see individual vinifications from this village. Indeed, it covers only 50ha and is usually blended with a mixture of different villages. This powerful, refined Champagne draws its character from clay-limestone soil enriched with chalk, which gives it structure and elegance. On the palate, the fullness and generosity of the Pinot Noir are balanced by a controlled freshness, offering a lingering finish with woody and spicy accents. Tours-sur-Marne 2019 will go wonderfully well with roast poultry, truffle risotto or mature cheeses.
Villers-Marmery 2019 is a Blanc de Blancs Premier Cru Champagne. This delicate cuvée celebrates the uniqueness of the village of Villers-Marmery, a Chardonnay enclave in the heart of the Montagne de Reims. Its pure chalk soil gives the wine freshness and tension. Tasting this 100% Chardonnay Champagne reveals a subtle harmony of minerality and salinity, balanced with a silky texture and dazzling freshness. A perfect wine to sublimate seafood and fresh, creamy cheeses.
These two Champagnes, aged for five years on their lees, were produced in a limited edition of just 2000 bottles each. They were vinified in stainless steel vats to preserve the purity of their aromas. The choice of vintages for the next Monocrus will evolve with the harvest, to bring out the best of certain vintages and reflect the full richness of Champagne’s terroirs. The House’s Monocrus will be produced exclusively in vintage years. Available in small quantities, these monocrus are intended for our most loyal customers.
Limited edition of 2000 bottles for each cuvée.
