Vinification

Joyau de France is crafted exclusively from Premier and Grand Cru grapes: Pinot Noir from Mailly and Vertus and Chardonnay from Oger, Avize and Vertus in the Côte des Blancs. Only first press juice is used to craft this very great Champagne. After long ageing in the cellars, the wine is very lightly dosed in order to bring out the distinctive character of this great year.

Tasting

A superb deep golden yellow colour, with ribbons of small, lively, swirling bubbles. Initially, the nose is delicate and complex, with some sweet floral aromas (acacia, lime). Hints of honey and fruit (pineapple) then emerge, underpinned by powerful notes of gingerbread and orange peel. The impressive attack on the palate is straight and supple. The refined, silky texture gradually becomes deeper and more structured, with very pure and fresh vinosity. Subtle and harmonious aromas develop with scents of brioche and roasted almonds, enhanced by a very slight bitterness and accompanied by a saline minerality. The finish is long and voluptuous. Joyau de France 2004 is a great, intense wine, with remarkable aromas and flavours and wonderful fullness.
