Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar Review

Wednesday 19 November 2014

Stephen Tanzer, world’s famous wine journalist and critic, has recently published the reviews for Champagne Boizel on the site “Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar”.

Blanc de Noirs – 90 points

Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar Review

Bright yellow. Cherry pit, blood orange, rose and smoky minerals on the fragrant nose and in the mouth. Picks up a truffley nuance with air, along with a hint of candied fig. Juicy and expansive, offering a suave blend of richness and vivacity and finishing with good power and length. I’d serve this broad-shouldered but lively Champagne with a mushroom risotto or a creamy chicken dish.

Brut Réserve – 88 points

Light gold. Slow to open nose offers subdued citrus and orchard fruit aromas, along with a touch of toasted nuts. Rich and palate-coating, with warm, toasty apple and pear flavors braced by a lemon pith nuance. Finishes with good chewy persistence and lingering smokiness.

Rosé – 88 points

Light, bright orange. Dried red fruits and orange zest on the reticent nose and in the mouth. Dry and precise, with good lift and cut on the finish, which lingers with subtle spiciness, a touch of warmth and a hint of candied strawberry.
